I would like to introduce you all to A Chicago Southside native that goes by the name of Weegi Wizers. Weegi is a musician with a stylish style, class, and a blazing eye for fashion who crafts alternative hip-hop songs with a touch of all those combined in his music. Weegi has made it his major goal to bring compassion and encouragement to individuals who are down and out so that they may uncover their own inner strength ever since a sad incident in which one of his loved ones committed suicide. He combines hip hop, disco, soul, funk, and house music to develop a unique sound. According to critics, Weegi is one of the bravest and most imaginative artists working in the Chicago scene right now. From his energizing live shows to his alluring sense of style and dress. For obvious reasons, Weegi Wizers should be on your radar. This is what inspired the new track:
"I took a trip to Cali back in may, I was feeling over worked at the time, my dawg Kennetik called me up and was like “Gang I’m trynna fly out to LA, you down?” I said “Fuck it” had the best time of my life. Wrote John Lennons on Venice Beach, had the beat for a month before I ever wrote to it. Came back, laid a demo down I was like man I gotta get Teddy on this is tonality and vibe would go crazy on this, reached out to bro. He sent the track back 3 months later. We linked up mixed and mastered the record. I was only suppose to be in the session for a couple hours. We ended up kicking it the entire day, Me, Teddy, and his boy Caleb. the vibe was just right, we was chopping it up about shooting the video, i told him my idea and BOOM we went out a did the damn thing man. So shoutout Teddy Truman and Caleb Hakeem for that experience."
I am extremely thrilled to watch Weegi continue to elevate this new type of music he's developed, which is so exciting and groovy, as he continues to make his imprint in the Chicago music scene.
