Vince Staples - ARE YOU WITH THAT? [Official Music Video]

Vince Staples is back with his self titled album VINCE STAPLES and accompanies it with the visual for “ARE YOU WITH THAT?” Before we even touch on the music, Vince is just a genuine dude overall. From watching many of his interviews, you see his character shine and you see how much of him is really in his music. “ARE YOU WITH THAT?” is the first track off of the project and honestly the perfect introduction to the world of Vince Staples. VINCE STAPLES comes with another change in sonics for the West coast rapper. On his new project he teamed up with producer Kenny Beats. The production is outstanding and Vince eats it up through the 10-track album. Vince Staples came with a more mature and mellow approach. On tracks like “SUNDOWN TOWN” and “THE SHINING”, you hear a more monotone and melodic Vince Staples. In my eyes, Vince Staples has always been underrated and under-appreciated in the rap game. In the visual for “ARE YOU WITH THAT?”, you see Vince running away from something which is probably just another Vince Staples. Suddenly, you see a bunch of Vince Staples awkwardly staring at Vince Staples. The next scene is Vince sinking into what looks like some sort of grave/burial for him. Before he goes completely underground he blows out candles and flowers are left to the side. Then just like that, the candles and flowers are gone and Vince is seemly forgotten. Throughout this well polished video you see so much symbolism from Vince. I love these types of visuals because there are so many different explanations and thoughts that come with watching it.
