The indie artist scene has been booming and expanding but this guy has steadily caught my attention. sonnuv(eve), formerly known as Everyone’s Sad Dad, is a gifted singer from Goshen, Indiana. sonnuv(eve) is a very talented and true to himself vocalist. While making music he uses live instrumentation, layered vocals, and dreamy melodies to create a new feeling every time you listen. The music making process for this singer is so delicate and every single piece is emphasized. His love for the music is blatant and as a listener it is a fresh thing to hear. The name change from Everyone’s Sad Dad to sonnuv(eve) peaked my interest and I got to ask him why he went with it. “I believe me and my team felt that Everyone’s Sad Dad was more short term. We seen it as a piece that was meant to be let go. My goal with music is to give life, and Eve in Hebrew language means to give life”. “space invaders” is a soothing ballad from sonnuv(eve). This artist is so brutally honest in his tunes and on this track he is longing for the feeling and connection. sonnuv(eve’s) hums and background vocals on this one are at another level. The guitar gives this song a clever ride and helps complete it overall. With this song comes hidden meanings and symbolisms but ultimately it is up to your interpretation. That is something that separates the average artists from the great artists. This new rebirth from sonnuv(eve) leaves me with nothing but high hopes and excitement for his future releases. He has constantly broken down barriers and elevated his music with his creativity and drive for the art.
