I have been on a Smino binge for the past few months and I don’t see that slowing down anytime soon. Although he dropped a surprise mixtape on his website last year, it feels like it has been awhile since we have heard from him. Smino has been collaborating with artists like Denzel Curry, Doja Cat, Thundercat and more. St. Louis artist has blessed us with his new track “Rice & Gravy”. Smino is an artist who blends together various sounds from different genres, he has created his own lane in modern R&B. He mixes intriguing vocal inflections with staccato flows and melodic hooks. Monte Booker handled the production on the song, him and Smino are a duo called Zero Fatigue. The instrumental is filled with traveling synths and hard-hitting 808s. Smino wastes no time getting straight to the harmonies about what made him who he is today, while also showing love to his favorite dish rice & gravy. Smino has hinted that this single might be on his third full-length release, saying on Twitter before the release that it has been difficult to release new music.
