St. Louis artist Smino is back with a new single called “I Deserve”. He shared “MLK Dr.” at the beginning of the year and “Rice & Gravy” a few months back. I was expecting Smino to roll the album out sooner but hey, I’m not gonna rush the art. “I Deserve” reminds me that I can never rush any art because my goodness this is a beautifully composed track. Smino is as sentimental and personal as ever on this one. The soulful and mellow production was handled by Kal Banx and WU10. Smino takes this beat and absolutely runs with it, his harmonies are among the best in the game right now. “I Deserve” is Smino figuring out ways to deal with adversity and his emotions. Nosidam circles around and finishes the track with a thoughtful bridge. I really cannot wait much longer for this Smino album, but hang on because it is going to be here sooner than we think.
