He's emphasized that his music doesn't convey his "precise reality," since he wants certain things to stay private, but on songs like "John Redcorn," where he buckles under the weight of unrequited love, and "Still Blue," it's hard not to wonder where the truth begins to blend into fiction. SiR's confessional manner is comprehensive but not overpowering, presenting a sympathetic and sensitive perspective that seeks understanding rather than fulfilling his own hedonism. SiR discussed his goal to keep the same transparency he's had on his next album in OkayPlayer's September cover story. His current track, "Nothing Even Matters," delivers on that promise.
