Inglewood native SiR returns with a brand new music video called "Nothing Even Matters" which he dives deeper into his emotionally rich stories to convey in 2019's Chasing Summer. He's emphasized that his music doesn't convey his "precise reality," since he wants certain things to stay private, but on songs like "John Redcorn," where he buckles under the weight of unrequited love, and "Still Blue," it's hard not to wonder where the truth begins to blend into fiction. SiR's confessional manner is comprehensive but not overpowering, presenting a sympathetic and sensitive perspective that seeks understanding rather than fulfilling his own hedonism. SiR discussed his goal to keep the same transparency he's had on his next album in OkayPlayer's September cover story. His current track, "Nothing Even Matters," delivers on that promise. SiR seems like he's about to explode with delight when singing about his wife in this song. "Oh, you make me want to be a better guy," he exclaims, horns trailing after him. The SamTrax-produced track is more direct than the obscure sounds that littered Chasing Summer, but it stays true to the Earth-toned grooves that the Inglewood vocalist favors.
