The Life of Pierre is a carefully and delicately crafted mixtape series by Atlanta based producer turned rapper Pierre Bourne. Pierre Bourne has produced for names like Playboi Carti, Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert and many more. He even has his own label called SossHouse where he executively produces albums for his signees. Every track on The Life of Pierre seamlessly flow together, each track has entertaining and pleasing transitions that make it seem like one long DJ mix. Pierre is fresh off his new release The Life of Pierre 5 (TLOP 5) and I am absolutely loving it. It is as polished as ever and Pierre gives plenty of introspective about his life as a kid and his life in the past few years. “HULU” is the third track on TLOP 5 and the video also doubles as a short visual for “Switching Lanes”. “HULU” is a complete bop, the 808 ride and Pierre’s vocals go hand in hand. The instrumental and visual alike are both very angelic, the edits go bonkers. Throughout the music video you see Pierre flexing bankrolls in his backyard and through the city with some of the cleanest shots I have ever seen. The edits are stellar with and even one of the edits is a flashback to another song on TLOP 5 called “Groceries”. You may know Pierre Bourne the producer, but honestly Pierre Bourne the rapper may surpass the producer in greatness. He also announced part two to his tour and will be stopping in Chicago November 23rd, the show is guaranteed to be lit.
