Texas has been on the forefront of new artists making their presence felt via their music, and today we have the pleasure of introducing you all to Forth Worth's own artist name Jace!. With his exciting new track called "Have To Ask My Lawyer," rising Texas rapper iAYZE (Jace!) continues to push boundaries and demonstrate his versatility. The Fort Worth native shows off his skill to surf a funk and disco wave that the radio badly lacks on the upbeat song. Jace! has previously shown that he is capable of fusing modern rap, rock, and heavy beats into a sound that is deeply personal and emotionally astute. With this upbeat and contagious song, he ventures into new musical terrain. The new track "Have To Ask My Lawyer" follows an eventful start to 2023 for Jace!, with his first album's release earlier in the year and the impromptu release of five EPs since March. Jace!'s ability to transcend several genres is seen on his creative 2023 LP, Reverence. He does this by identifying links across scenes and subcultures that are considerably more significant than the little differences that separate them.
Prior to Reverence, his gritty and most complete piece to date, Jace! completely overturned every notion of his aesthetic. Jace! is hard to pin down since he sneaks into niche trends and popularizes them with his own special sauce. "I got a strong respect for the music," he claims. It is designed for several open ears. Jace! has been candid about his battles with anxiety and PTSD, as well as his tumultuous past with drug use and living on the streets of Texas in his early teens, outside of just his music.
