I have the pleasure of introducing you all to a very special artist that goes by the name of IamTongi. IamTongi is originally from the Hawaiian island of Oahu, namely Kahuku. You all may have seen him grace your tv screens but if not, Iam Tongi is the current winner of American Idol' Season 21 in which Iam Tongi is the first person from Hawaii or the Pacific Islands to win the competition. Iam Tongi has released his newest song, "Why Kiki," after hinting at his next single. The song was released on Friday, September 22. It comes after "I'll Be Seeing You," the Season 21 American Idol winner's debut single, peaked at number one on the Billboard Rocks Digital Song Sales list. Staying true to his origins, the Pacific Islander's song transports listeners to a tropical paradise with its breezy melody and reggae-inspired vibe. And if that's not enough, Tongi's music video for "Why Kiki?" takes them to the Hawaiian islands.
In the new visual it begins with a busy scene of Waikiki Beach at the Kualoa Ranch Private Nature Reserve, and tells the tale of a romantic couple who enjoy each other's company on the island. They ride around in the wind, let their hair blow in their faces, look out at the ocean while holding hands, and end the story on a cliffhanger by seemingly kissing. In July, Tongi performed a live version of his new song for his fans at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, California.
