Charles Fox will not be put into a box. The stellar indie artist just released his new EP I Love You More EP. Born in Connecticut, raised in Massachusetts and now basing himself in Chicago, Charles Fox tries to stay true to himself and his roots by never sampling. If you’re an avid listener to a few different genres of music I believe that you will absolutely love I Love You More EP. Charles Fox mixes styles and cadences from artists like Roy Blair, 100 gecs, Kid Cudi, Beck and more. All the music he creates is original and from his own brain. Charles likes to use distorted vocals and spontaneous production so you never really know what the next track will sound like. As an active listener in music, knowing that all of Charles’ ideas are purely adds more weight to the music itself. The short and sweet mixtape dives into the mind of Charles Fox. He touches on topics like relationships, his mental health, and the current state of the world. The somber intro “I Can’t See” kicks the project off with a beautiful hook sung by Connor Staub. This track details Charles trying to find the love with his significant other. “His Picture” features production from Chicago producer 1hittwonder and these two gelled so well. The last track “DMND Studio Freestyle” was an improvised freestyle done by Charles after a studio session for his next album(!). I don’t want to give away everything about the project so I’ll just leave it to y’all to listen. Check out Charles Fox’s I Love You More EP below.
