It has been a little while since we heard from Portland rapper Aminé as he finally shares new music for the first time this year. "Charmander" is the new track and it was teased last week on Aminé's Instagram when he asked for 30,000 comments to drop the song. "Charmander" finds Aminé rapping over a hyper energetic instrumental. Aminé was recently on Zach Lowe's radio show and said that he wanted to challenge himself to create in ways he hadn't before. This song caught me so off guard that when I first heard it I was so unsure because of the tempo. Initially I didn't know how to feel but now it has already grown on me. Aminé raps about how life has been since the release of his most recent album Limbo and how he has been sticking to himself. The song is accompanied with another spectacular video from Aminé. The visual finds Aminé isolated in a cabin in the woods with a giant sized dog. The music video is sped up along with the song while Aminé's mouth still raps on time with the audio. I appreciate his videos so much because they are always so animated and feature hilarious skits. Now, I am really intriguied and will be interested in the rollout for Aminé's next work, this turn that he is taking could be a crazy one. I believe that he can take his music to new heights.
